BUILD WHERE YOU WANT TO LIVE

Build a Custom Home on Your Land.

Build on your lot home under construction by American Heritage Homes

You choose the place. Together, we’ll figure out the home that belongs there.

Building on your lot means exactly what it sounds like: instead of choosing a home in a builder-owned community, you build your new home on land you own or plan to purchase.

Maybe it’s acreage you’ve had for years. A property near family. The right school district. A quiet country road. Or a piece of land you haven’t found yet.

You don’t need to own land before you talk to us. If you’re still searching, we can help you understand what to look for and what to consider before you buy.

Since 1995, American Heritage Homes has built custom homes on customer-owned land throughout Central Ohio.

YOUR LAND. YOUR HOME.

This Is Where Custom Gets Interesting.

Building on your lot gives you something a home in a typical development can’t: the freedom to think about the home and the property together.

Start with one of our 50+ customizable floor plans and make it your own, or bring us plans you already love.

Move walls. Rethink the kitchen. Add space where your family needs it. Change the exterior. Think about how the home sits on your property and how you want to use the land around it.

The goal isn’t to fit your life into one of our houses. It’s to build a house that fits your life.

TWO WAYS TO START

Choose the Collection That Fits You.

Not every homeowner wants the same level of customization—or wants to spend the same amount getting there. That’s why we offer two different starting points.

Our Designer Collection offers more choices and opportunities to personalize your home, while our Simplified Collection uses a more streamlined selection of features and finishes to offer a more budget-conscious way to build.

Different starting points. Same goal: building a home that feels like yours.

Every Homesite Is Different

Building on your land means thinking beyond the house itself. Access, utilities, soil, drainage, grading, permits and local requirements can all affect what it takes to prepare your property for construction.

Whether you’re building on open acreage, a wooded property, a rural homesite or a neighborhood lot, we’ll help you understand the site conditions that may affect your plans and budget.

A FEW COMMON QUESTIONS

Wondering How This Works?

Do I Need to Own Land Before I Contact American Heritage Homes?

No. Many of our customers contact us before purchasing land. Whether you already own property or are still searching, we can discuss your plans, help you understand what to look for, and evaluate a potential lot before you buy.

Can I Customize Your Floor Plans?

Yes. Our floor plans can be personalized to better fit your family, your lifestyle, and the way you want to live in your home.

Can I Bring My Own Floor Plan?

Absolutely. If you’ve purchased plans online or worked with an architect, we’d be happy to review them and talk about building the home on your land.
