Selecting Finishes for Your Custom Home

When it comes to selecting the finishes for your new American Heritage Home, we know how important it is to be detail-oriented. Everything matters, from the floor to the ceiling and everything in between. We realize this may be an intimidating process, which is why we have Designer on staff to guide you through the entire process. So, as you begin to think about the finishes for your new home, here are somethings to consider:

Hardware:  Faucets, Knobs & Handles

From chrome and polished nickel to antique brass and black, choosing the right hardware for your new home can elevate a space. Combine vintage with contemporary by pairing a copper faucet with a white vessel sink or consider black doorknobs for a bold statement against white doors and trim. Add satin nickel knobs and handles to cabinetry for a sophisticated, timeless look.  Even though the hardware you choose can help define your home’s style, don’t forget that these items also need to function the way you want in our new home.

Paint Colors: Neutral vs. Bold

Choosing the right paint color for the interior of your new home can be a lot of fun, and it can also be a little unnerving. It isn’t always easy to envision big, bold colors in new spaces.  An accent color is a great way to add a bold color and compliment with something a little more neutral. For example, a bold accent color on an island can add personality to any kitchen. To help you figure it all out, our partners at Sherwin Williams have a robust website that lets homeowners explore paint colors a variety of ways. So, whether you choose a soft, neutral color or a bold, contemporary color, you really can’t go wrong creating a home that looks as cohesive as it does beautiful.
